Hello friends,
I may not be an expert in economics, but I have survived difficult times and prospered in spite of having little money. My first lessons in overcoming challenging financial crises came from my mom – whose life example has inspired this column.
May you find this piece helpful and reassuring amidst all the economy fears and uncertainties!

Howdy folks,
I’m trying to get back into the swing of my weekly column after a two week break. This week’s column is titled: What if…?
For me, many times when I’ve began a question with “what if”, it has led me down a road of regrets or I’ve been stopped dead in my tracks when I let the fear and uncertainty of the question keep me from pursuing goals or dreams. But I certainly recognize the wisdom of asking “what if” at times as well as the unlimited possibilities the question can also bring into view.
Many blessings to you all!

Dear friends,
My latest column is in honor of the anniversary of 9/11…
The 7th anniversary of what many consider the most abominable tragedy in our nation’s history is upon us — September 11, 2001. Although our nation indeed saw the face of evil on this day, we also saw the face of good. May remembering the good help us wipe out evil and not allow it to steal our peace, freedom and security.
Blessings to you and peace,
Annette

Dear friends,
Do you lack the confidence to pursue your dreams? Consider this — You can’t succeed or fail if you never even try!
I hope this column encourages you to go for “your” gold!
Needless to say inspiration for this column was born watching this summer’s Olympics.
Have a golden week,
Annette

Howdy!
This column was inspired from watching the opening ceremony for the Olympics.
Sometimes it’s difficult to imagine mutual respect, acceptance or even tolerance among the many cultures of our world. And yet despite the differences that I was certain existed in political and social philosophies, I saw unity of purpose in the eyes of each and every athlete.
Have a great week!

Hello!
My column this week was inspired by an email I received from a friend recently. You know who you are and I thank you for sharing it with me!
It’s titled “Don’t miss a thing!” It seems some scientists say human beings have a curious capacity to take things for granted. I know there are many things that have become routine and expected in my life. How about in yours?
Have a wondrous week!

Hello friends and family!
I can’t believe a month has gone by without my posting on my website’s blog. July has been a month with a flurry of family visits as well as coping with tragedies.
My column this week is titled “Honoring our fallen soldiers.” It tells about my struggle with guilt after learning of the B-52 crash off Guam a few days ago. For the first time, loss of American soldiers hit close to home for my family.
Although coping with grief and guilt continue, I have recently realized a way to rightfully honor our fallen heroes as well as all soldiers and their families who sacrifice so much for our safety and freedom.
Love to all,
Annette

Technically this column should be coming out next week, but next week I have a “Star Spangled Banner” column planned!
The idea of finally turning 50 got me to thinking and I thought perhaps I’m not the only one who felt the way I was feeling.
I hope you enjoy this column!
Until next week…
Love,

Have you ever struggled to find something to be happy about?
Lately I’ve realized that God does want us to be happy. That in fact we have a divine right to be happy. And I’ve realized that there are times when I have to take a stand and fight for my happiness so I don’t give in to whatever it is that is trying to rob my happiness from me.
I was reminded of the old story of the gatekeeper, which for me beautifully drives home the idea that your thoughts will make you happy or unhappy no matter where you are.
Hope you enjoy this tale and my column!
Until next week…
Love,
Annette

My column this week tells why this city girl loves her country boy. But it’s a message for city boys, too. It’s really about the qualities that make a great dad.
Enjoy!
Hope everyone has a grand week and happy Father’s Day weekend!
