Friends,
This week’s column is prompted by reminisces of a walk in a redwood forest. Truly, being in the immense presence of these enduring giants was humbling and awe-inspiring. And I’ve finally found some words to express my reflections from this hike my husband and I made last summer.
Love,
Annette

It really was waking up from a night of bad dreams that inspired this column. I knew the feelings I was experiencing that morning were unfounded because I was ONLY dreaming. But as I thought about these bad dreams, or rather tried to stop thinking about the bad dreams, I realized there were other times in my life when I felt like I was living in a bad dream.
It has been through looking closely at Jesus’ healings that I’ve been learning how to lift myself out of bad and difficult life experiences.
I hope the ideas I’ve shared are helpful to somebody!
Sincerely!
Annette

Howdy!
As I sit here and anticipate the next Indiana Jones saga, I can’t help but sigh and say — in the words of Marian Ravenwood from Indiana’s first movie — “Indiana Jones. I always knew someday you’d come walking back through my door.”
You guessed it! My new column is inspired by my anticipation of the new Indiana Jones movie.
Many thanks to all of you Indiana Jones fans who shared what you love about Indy and his movies. Your words help me write this column!

Actually, the inspiration for this piece began when my husband and I were driving around the rim of Crater Lake in Oregon - what once was a volcano that blew its top years ago. I found myself asking the question – Is ignorance ever bliss? And I answered yes in that moment. Read my column and you’ll see what I meant by that response.
It’s funny to me how sometimes an idea comes for a column but I can’t seem to finish it until months later.
I would love to hear if anyone else has ever wrestled with this question before.
Have a great week and Happy Mother’s Day to all you moms out there!
